To be cured [of our societal neuroses], we must rise from our graves and throw off the cerements of the dead. Nobody can do it for another – it is a private affair which is best done collectively. We must die as egos and be born again in the swarm, not separate and self-hypnotized, but individual and related.
Imagination has always had powers of resurrection that no science can match.
There is… a sense in which the body is not real; but that body that is not real is the false body of the separate self, the reality-ego. That false body must be cast off… The human body is not a thing, or substance…but a continuous creation… The human body is an energy system… which is never a complete structure; never static… in perpetual inner self-construction and self-destruction; we destroy in order to make it new.
